The application requires the address of the rental property, proof of liability insurance, proof of adequate parking, the lodging tax number, a diagram of the bedrooms and parking, designation of a local property owner who can respond to complaints within 24 hours.
The license procedure also requires the owner of the rental to give notice to neighbors within a 300-foot radius by standard mail or hand delivery. An occupancy limit was set to two per bedroom, plus two per home with a maximum of 10. Three or more citations within a one-year period will result in a suspended or revoked business license. The ordinance also recommends safety features such as fire extinguishers, adequate ingress and egress (for fire) and smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
