OFten a guest will complain that there's a spider in their room. "Eek, a spider, it might bite me...or walk on my face at night." Well, grow up, Brunhilda. Nature happens. My house, or yours, is not totally separate from the earth. Houses are not hermetically sealed...at least I hope not. Insects do come in. Spiders happen. "You didn't clean the room!" Yes, I did clean the room, but spiders dont' care if the room has been cleaned. They come in anyway. Often what's needed by both Airbnb and these whiny guests is awareness of some basic facts... Our skin itself ...is an alien landscape...a complex ecology supporting a wide variety of life....on almost any strand of hair are tiny fungi...in the tens of thousands...they have established a permanent nation on our skin. On everyone's eyelashes, live tiny mites.... bacteria...no matter how much we wash, millions remain on our skin. (Cold comfort to the OCD...) "There are as many creatures on your body as there are people on earth."We are ...never....alone..... Take that and chew on it, Delicate Dorrie.
