There seems to be a theme with some Chinese guests -- this topic comes up a lot -- the Chinese guests who leave the place a pig sty: www.thestar.com.my/news/regional/2018/09/14/chinese-tourists-apologise-after-being-publicly-shamed-for-leaving-airbnb-rental-looking-like-a-tip/It's a theme -- not a rule -- but a theme -- The messiest guest I have had in the last couple months is from Mainland CHina. I dont' consider it at all unethical or insensitive to state one's experience... and, while noting that this is not my experience with ALL guests from China ---Some are delightful and very considerate--- but I have also have had some Chinese guests who are slobs. THis problem may well be owing to certain cultural differences. What I've heard is that many Chinese who are sufficiently well off to be tourists, or to travel, are used to having full time maids in their homes. Indeed, as this article states, for middle class Chinese, servants are universal: www.quora.com/Are-servants-common-in-Chinese-households-in-the-PRC Which as Americans, nost of us do not, because that would be too expensive. But they do, and so they get used to not picking up after themselves and thinking this is some lower person's job to do.
