I dont' know what this man's gripe is, why he wants to try to scam both Airbnb and Airbnb hosts, but that seems to be his goal: medium.com/@filip.poutintsev/how-to-scam-airbnb-d1b2edabad49Note -- if you go to this link you may be asked to sign in in a popup. Aloha Deborah, Thanks for sharing. I appreciated Paul Hart's response.

Yes, Pauls' response in the comments was good.
Also, in the comments on the article, the writer disingenuously states that attempting to scam Airbnb by paying outside the system will not hurt the host. Yes it will if Airbnb finds out about this arrangement and terminates the hosts' account.
Hosts and guests alike are not supposed to try to communicate off the platform or pay outside the platform prior to the guest booking a reservation through Airbnb with the host.

This guy's post is wrong on so many levels.
My take-away was pondering if he in fact is on the list of habitual bad tenants you have shared is searchable; began to use Airbnb as an alternative to permanent housing; and VOILA!! another label to add to his vastly claimed areas of Expertise.
