In Florida, it's apparently possible to lose your homestead exemption if you rent out your property.

I dont' know exactly what a homestead exemption is....and it's not clear if what leads to losing it is renting the ENTIRE unit out, or even just renting out PART of the house, say one bedroom. It would not make much sense to me to lose such an exemption renting out only part of the house while you still live there....because....you still live there!
