Where oh where is the towel?
This may be a short story or a long novel.
Where oh where is the towel?
Do you ever have this happen?
You give a guest 3 towels, nicely placed on their bed when they arrive.
When they depart, one towel is on the floor behind the armchair.
Another towel is in the kitchen on the counter.
The third towel cant' be found anywhere. It's not in the bedroom. It's not in the kitchen (looked all over). It's not in the main bathroom. It's not in the other bathroom. It's not in the laundry machines or on top of the laundry machines.
You message the guest and ask where they put the towel.
"I put it in the bathroom, on the top shelf"
Why oh why did you do that, you wonder to yourself. The "top shelf" in the bathroom is someone else's shelf (belonging to another guest) and is actually full of the other guests' things.
You then ask that other guest if they saw someone else's towel there on their shelf. Nope, didn't see one.
Back to the first guest, "Second guest didn't find your towel on their shelf -- and by the way why did you leave it on someone else's shelf? Why not just leave it in the room? (And at the same time I'm saying this I'm making a mental note -- always tell departing guests to just please LEAVE THE TOWELS IN THEIR ROOM upon departing!!)
Guest, "Oh, I usually put the towel in the room on the armchair but I folded it up and put it on the top shelf..."
Well but WHYYYY?
Outcome -- the towel was not found ANYWHERE. Guest is saying he will buy me a new towel and drop it off next week.
OH come on folks just stop throwing towels all over the place, leave things where you found them. Why is this so hard???
