I use Apple airports, extreme and express. They are much faster than any other amplifyer or router I ever installed for a client or was forced to buy whilst travelling, can be updated and nowadays managed by iphone, if you allow it. The first one we bought, maybe 2005 or 2006, still works at my mother's place, I update it once a year, wifi is much faster now then when we bought it and nowadays every guest can connect to it by wifi. Back in the day, one or two guests per year neaded an adsl cable for very old laptops. The Extreme is bigger and you can connect external discs to it, to give every computer in the net access to films or data. The Express is small, like a charger, practical to take on trips. The main purpose is to connect a hifi set to it, to play from anwhere, phone including, to a good sound system. It can also pick up wifi and render it by Adsl - for the really old laptops or computers without working wifi card. The newer ones are incredibly fast and create 2 nets, either one for guests, one for host or one fast, one slower (I do that). My brother in law, a technician, achieves as much (but the sound system) via other routers, but it took him years to get it mostly working. I have a hard time not to tell him after every glitch, that it takes me an hour or two to set up such a system, considering the fact, that a lot of climbing and laying cables is involved in my place. (I want the router out of reach of guests).

Another host mentioned this:
A good solution for WIfi needs is "OnHub" which is set up thru Google Wi-Fi. One of the features is there's a Guest Network set up with a different password than your personal network.
