I wish they had shots of the apartment, I'm so curious now! Pretty brazen behaviour of the renter Thomas (dragging furniture to the roof) and of his guests. I'd be so terrified if I was him, a $300k suit is no joke.

I guess he needs to bind the damages caused by the squatters in apartment b and on the roof to the tenant in apartment a. To get them out all at once and for insurance reasons. A high claim in emergency filing also obliges the tenant to engage a good lawyer, it may come with higher fees (in Europe it does) and may just scare him away. My insurance would pay more for vandalism in connection with a break in than for negligence (nothing for that).
