This is one of the worst things that can happen on Airbnb....as this adds so much fuel to the fires created by those supporting heavy government --- when a host lists a government subsidized apartment as a short term Airbnb listing. newyork.cbslocal.com/2016/11/02/nightmare-airbnb-rental/

Deborah, there is one in my area with only two reviews, both negative, first one starting out with "WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!", then going on to detail the horrors of beg bugs, roaches and being forced out by the police who showed up in the morning telling the guests this listing is illegal and they have to get out. The reviewer even posted the host's full name (which is against terms) and yet Airbnb still keeps the listing up, complete with both reviews, and providing it as a suggested option in "similar listings". Awesome.

Incredible, Grace. We have people who were superhosts, whose every review from guests is praising them up and own, who have their listings deleted and their entire account terminated by Airbnb, without being given an explanation why -- and then on the other hand we have what you describe, the very horrible listing, with all negative reviews, which stays up, in spite of everything that tried to knock it down dead, like a zombie that refuses to die.

We have such subsided housing for middle income or however you call that. Not for the very poor, not very low rent, but a bit higher. Sometimes there is a scandal, when a politician is found keeping one, or housing a family member there, although his/her income raised over the years and it became illegal to occupy it.
Such buildings are not worn down, usually the apartments are rather nice - how should airbnb know that the tenant gets a subsidiary ? Should they verify ownership or rental contracts? (There exist apartments, where you can stay in but the rent raises if your income raises, or you can even buy them. )
But if a problem arises, airbnbvshould be faster to remove the listing.
Although in this case, if there is no tv crew making a scandal, it may be just a case of guesrs renting rooms believing they get the whole place, the host giving in and sleeping elsewhere. With some exagerations from the guests. Airbnb can't throw them out with no proof either.
