A Las Vegas host apparently set up a series of hidden cameras, with the intention of recording guests in private areas. The police were involved and the host was indicted by a grand jury. The host was banned from Airbnb immediately. This story is an example of why Airbnb has a particularly strong position regarding guests's privacy, and why many advise that hosts not put cameras inside their property, even if they put those cameras in common areas and even if they fully disclose their presence to guests. I read a story somewhere recently -- I can't recall where -- about a host whose listing was something more like a boutique hotel or B&B, who was banned from Airbnb over cameras, even though he only had cameras in common areas, fully disclosed them, and was in fact required by local law to have those cameras in his building. Interior cameras, even when legal and disclosed, pose too much of a risk to hosts since they incite too many concerns about privacy. news3lv.com/news/local/hidden-cameras-found-inside-a-las-vegas-airbnb-rental-recording-naked-people
