In a move that is quite beneficial for landlords who are dealing with problem tenants, a Quebec court gave a landlord the right to lock out a tenant who has never actually lived in the apartment he rented, but has only been illegally subletting it on Airbnb. Apparently it was easier to get permission to lock the tenant out than to get out of the contract with this tenant, which indicates another serious problem in landlord-tenant laws in this region. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/quebec-airbnb-regie-du-logemont-1.3707663
