For Jim and Amanda, Airbnb provides a way for them to share Alaska farm life with travelers. The couple recently bought Arctic Roots Farm, which has two rental cabins on the property off Chena Hot Springs Road. A previously booked wedding was their first adventure into Airbnb and it worked out well.
Airbnb offers a great way to rent the cabins, Jim said. “They take care of scheduling and payment for a minimal fee and they reach a lot of people globally. It sells our space.
“We get lots of different kinds of people,” Jim said. “We’ve had an Army radiologist, couples, guests from China and Japan.” Visitors enjoy wandering around the farm to see the animals or watch sandhill cranes dance in the fields.
