What a nutcase, Shaun. A wonder it did not keep you from hosting if that was the beginning

It was a trial by fire, for sure, Helga. Fortunately, my first few guests became very dear friends, so I had seen it could go well. And, well, I did not want to return to an office, so there is that. Yes, I would rather scour the box spring with a toothbrush and diatomaceous earth than I would sit in a cushy office with air conditioning.

I have the same attitude as you do, Shaun, about aversion to life in the cubicles!

Just choked the life right outa me. Sitting in a weird revolving chair under fluorescent lights, which causes strange things to happen to the body, wearing a coat in summer because of the air conditioning. Never seeing the sunlight. Overhearing Monday morning water cooler conversation about tv shows I never heard of, shopping trips to buy garish sofas, gossip about who the manager is secretly dating. Enforced Christmas parties. Like nails on a chalkboard.
I did enjoy my last office job though. I would show up at an office for only an hour and a half, cause some trouble, then go to another office and do the same. That was fun.

My last office job I was on the 6th floor. Only worked there 4 days. The whole time I just wanted to jump out the window.

I dont' know where I filed it, but at one point I found a law in california that prohibited discrimination on the basis of arbitrary characteristics like having long hair. Here's info which says that in CA you also can't discriminate based on "medical condition" among other things: www.thespruce.com/california-fair-housing-law-protected-classes-155873
