I really wish that peoople who are not hosts would refrain from making suggestions about how hosts should do business. It's offensive to have people make suggestions which show no awareness of the reality of people's experiences as hosts. Such as the fact that hosts will always be getting inquiries from people who don't fit with what we offer, who haven't completed their profile, who don't say anything about themselves, who have bad reviews, who come across as demanding or entitled, or who present with one or another "red flag" and who we just don't want in our homes. THe fact that guests have to be accepted by hosts and can't just book instantly, in my opinion is a factor that helps keep guests respectful. If they didn't have to be accepted, but could force themselves into other's homes when not wanted there, many would not bother to be respectful or communicative.
