Hi all! Just posted a blog entry, should any of you be interested: globalhostingblogs.com/It is called "Lessons At Three Years." I don't seem to have learned much after three years of hosting!! But if I stop to think about it, I probably have....LOL Would love any comments! Thanks (:

THanks Carolyn for another blog! You call it "attention to detail", but it really sounds like, "lovingly preparing the space down to the last detail". Because, don't short yourself on this, you are putting love into your preparations. You are putting care and thoughtfulness into your space, which shows love both for the space and for the guests who come.
Also, I think one of the blessings of being a home sharing host, is that there is no truer hospitality than welcoming guests into one's own home. Working at a hotel or motel, or an inn, is not the same. There isn't the same intimacy, the same joy or love. In my opinion, what is offered by hotels and inns can't compare...because no one there is really giving of themselves, of their own lives and their own uniqueness. Hotels offer corporate cubicles. That isn't hospitality, that's filing arrivals into filing cabinets.

Thanks Deborah! I agree -- it is a whole different world than hotels or motels or inns. We are welcoming our guests in the truest sense of the word. "Welcome" is more than just a slogan.
