Hi fellow hosts! As you know, the LA city council is looking at legislation to limit short-term rentals. We'd only be allowed to host 90 days out of the year! Here's an email I received about the next hearing regarding the legislation. Note that this came from an Airbnb employee, Julia Casillas, who is part of the Los Angeles Airbnb team that is focusing on fair legislation. If you want more info, please message me, and I'll send you her email address. She's focused on Los Feliz, Hollywood, and Atwater, but she can connect you to an Airbnb organizer in your neighborhood. Oh! The time may change from 8 am to later in the day. Julia will let me know if that happens and I'll pass it on to you all.
"Hi folks, Please join us Thursday morning June 23rd for the Planning Commission's public hearing on the draft of the short-term rental ordinance. I'll be sending you more info re: parking soon. For now, just want to make sure you save the date so you can let the Planning Commission know how you feel about this ordinance.
When: Thursday, June 23rd at 8am
Where: Los Angeles City Hall
John Ferraro Council Chambers, Room 340 200 N. Spring St, Los Angeles
Feel free to respond to this email and let me know if you are coming if we haven't spoken already.
Let me know if you have any questions.
All best,
Julia Casillas Public Policy | Community Organizer
Los Angeles "
