Business Travel on Airbnb Rent unique, local accommodations on any budget, anywhere in the world.
Did you know? www.airbnb.com/business-travel
There is a business travel portal on Airbnb to get the business traveler , Yet it is limited to Hosts that rent out the entire space Only and not private rooms !!
G:
No wonder Airbnb does not want to supply host data to city government agencies! It will show that they are not complying with local city STR laws like the one we have in San Francisco.
Keith:
I'm not sure how to made this correlation. hosts can rent for 90 days non-hosted. it's the hosts responsibility to comply with the law and pull a listing when they've hit those 90 days.. however, they could leave their place listed and leave when a guest books.. in this case it may 'appear' available 360 days a year, but then the 90th night could come in December or not at all. I presume the business travel thing is a work in progress.. business travellers for now would be more comfortable on their own (I host many in my rooms and all have been quite happy). for travel agents, the appeal to hotels is that their is consistency from one to another.. this isn't the case with airbnb, so restricting things at least to listings where the business traveller would have an exclusive space at least is a good start until they figure out how to identify listings that meet a certain set of requirements/standards that would offer similar consistency to business travelers. I like that they're doing this and have been hoping they would start a business program for some time.
Joseph:
What are you saying G ? Can you clairify it for everybody please
Joseph:
Well Keith, there are listings that do cater to the Business Class
and many business travelers like to be able to meet other Business travelers in a related or non related field . So, to do a Portal where the mode is set to only entire spaces to rent , gives an edge to those Hosts alone . I say that there should be an optional function, rather then a default mode to chose a private room or entire listing .
Keith:
I believe once you get there you still have the option of checking 'private room' so that's there its just a bit more work for the person booking.
Joseph:
Yes, but thats my point !! There shouldn't be a default option after the fact . Let the Guest establish if they want a Entire House or Private room before doing a search . The way it is currently set up , private rooms are the default mode and entire homes is the standard . Why not make it so they can choose both options
or just have a mix of both instead of giving entire private listings an edge . Many people that use Airbnb just don't take the time to get familiar with search options , and so the search is slanted to the current private home option over private room options .
