It looks like they are not bothering to change the page where the app link arrives, even if that seems very easy to do. Maybe we will loose access to it after an app update. People on old phones will then still keep it. If it's all on the same servers, the technicians won't bother to delete the content ever. Space is so cheap now, it does not matter. I had sites inaccessible by domain but still on the server for years and years, only lost them when I changed the server to another provider. You never know, when a client may change his mind ...
I even had that with websites on mutual storage. Like: a client buys a small domain package with a bit of storage. Later it grows and he takes more storage on a private server. The package is reduced to domain name only, without any storage. The mutual storage is no longer paid for and is deleted by the provider, after dire warnings. So far so good. 3 years later, I change the private server and make a mistake in the settings for one domain. Lo and behold, this clients 4 year old website reappears. Obviously, due to the error, the old settings were used, directing it to the old mutual storage. Not paid for for 3 years, officially deleted, but there it was! Nothing ever is definitely deleted on the web.

I sent an email today to Jonny Styron and Diana Wong at Airbnb, asking when they expect the groups to close on the mobile app, pointing out the awkwardness of having them still open there. As well as the emotional need that we have for a final closure. I will post here if I hear from them.
