Rewarding return guests
I would like to offer a returning guest a discount, would be nice addition to price settings.

I always give returning guests a discount, but I don't advertise it any place in my listing. Perhaps I should. It doesn't come up til they send me an inquiry; then I respond with a special offer.

Ta, maybe you should advertise it . Thought I would, but like automation. Can we set it with instant bookings? Also can you remember everyone?

You can browse / check your former bookings plus remind them of the discount you would give if they return ( give them a voucher with their booking number?). If they refer to it when booking again you can track and make a special offer. Maybe system will allow such settings in the far future.

I hope so!! I have cards made up for "refer a friend" for 10% off next visit. Haven't had too much excitement about it though

I offer special pricing for return guests..but there is nothing built into the system to insure this...the guest has to 'remind' me that they were here before...

We bought a Sierra Club Daybook this year to use as an informal guestbook and to remind us of which of our guests stayed with us and when. I have my own signals for whether I liked them and would have them back or not.
There are many to whom I would happily give a discount but there are a few who I will not host again, I do need to be reminded of that as I tend to remember the good in people and forget the bad. Non of my non-returning (no matter what they might think) guests were horrible, in one or two cases, they lied to me and just left me with a bad taste in my mouth. But that means, whether they want to or not, they're not coming back or if we were really feeling pressed and needed to accept them, they would not be getting a discount.
