The little sister city to the south, SOuth San Francisco plans to take up the issue of short term rental regulations.

Peter's exerpts and two cents:
"The council stands to consider a recommendation from the Planning Commission, which voted earlier this month to support introducing a $150 permit through a one-year pilot program to those renting their homes on the websites.
Under the recommendation, listings on vacation rental websites would also be subject to the city’s transient occupancy tax, or hotel tax, which takes 10 percent of the gross rent paid by guests. The city’s conference center tax would take an additional $2.50 per occupied room per night, as well." Peter's two cents: business license and tax seem reasonable regulations to me. It sounds like the discussion of reasonable regulations in South SF hasn't reached the same fevered pitch as those in SF. I hope they stay that way.
