How to make a Guidebook?
I'm unable to find the icon on my Manage Listings page to create a Guidebook for my house. Is the Guidebook feature dedicated to a few big city neighborhoods only? Where IS IT?!

Well it says to click on Manage My Listing which leads to a page with these clickable options in descending order in a vertical column on the left hand side: Calendar, Pricing, Overview, Details, Photos, Amenities, Address, Listing, Terms. I've clicked on all of them and spent HOURS slowly perusing the screen for the word GUIDEBOOK or GUIDEBOOKS. Nothin', its showing NOTHING!! No "Guidebooks' word or icon or or…. NUTHIN'!!! no wonder I've had ZERO INQUIRIES IN 2 MONTHS!!

Well that makes the most sense of all. Wonder if the criteria is similar to Instant Booking which requires 3 reviews before availability. Thanks!

Glenn, I've been trying to figure out Guidebook now for about 2 weeks to no avail. It is a relief to know that after all that time asking for help THERE IS NO GUIDEBOOK!!! Would have loved that info from ANYONE a bit sooner.

Glenn, Tove's answers perpetuated archival information that was inaccurate and also nonexistent. Perhaps AirBnB could consider keeping you up to date so you can educate your assistants rather than wasting our time on futile applications. After all, aren't we all working the same goal? Let's work together then!

Your information is not applicable to new users: are you in the United States? It is evident that that your or your country's program is not identical to mine, and likely not identical to Any new users. It is critical that before advising with "Helpful" information no matter how good your intentions might be, that your information is actually correct, current and applicable. Would you appreciate a User's Manual for a newly purchased appliance that was for an electrical voltage unavailable in your country, for an outdated version of that appliance and in a different language?

HI again, I have never noticed there was a difference between beginners and older users of airbnb. I made my first guide from the very beginning and I do not think the set up is different from one country to another, in that case contact the help desk at airbnb, I am just a host like you, in France.
I find the guide when clicking: manage my property, then on left hand side there is the following: adresse and descrition, Photos, calendar and price, advanced settings, trust and verification, GUIDE, Promote, will get out from this group as appaerantly me trying giving help is not appreciated, and do not really appreciate your attitude, good luck anyway, feel very sad about your aggressivity, trying to help, thats all, contact the help desk or read the FAQ, Have a good day

Dear Jean,
Since you did not respond to the rather lengthy explanation addressed to you directly in an email at 6:48PST (over two hours ago), I must assume you did not receive my email. Therefore, I am going to post a message publicly to be certain you have received this information.
After reading your comments, I feel it necessary to inform you that Tove is highly respected in the Host Community and has contributed her very valuable knowledge to many Hosts, including myself, on numerous occasions. I do not take kindly to your assumption that Tove is an "assistant" of mine. I have found wisdom in many of Tove's answers and given her extensive experience as a Host, your foolish statement could not be further from the truth. A competent individual need only read a single Guest review from one of Tove’s five properties in France to see that Tove is a passionate and dedicated Host who takes care of Guests on par with a very select few.
Furthermore, there are currently two different versions of Property Listing setup pages in use by Airbnb's web server. You have the version provisioned for Hosts who have recently joined Airbnb. This version does not include the Guidebook. You would have known this information and been able to refrain from and perhaps apologize for the continued incendiary comments toward Tove if you had read the information provided to you over 15 hours ago.
Did you read the information and comments contained in the third link I included in my response to you?
If you had done so, you would have been able to recuse yourself from assuming that Tove's answer was “archival information,” which is not true. Tove, along with thousands of other Hosts who joined Airbnb before you who have Guidebooks on their listings are able to utilize the earlier version of the software. You do not have this capability due to your recent account registration.
Have I made myself clear?
Please let me know if you have any other questions or require clarification. I am happy to provide either. You may also address your concerns to Airbnb’s Customer Service team, as I can’t imagine why any member of this group would respond to you directly after the infantile display of aggressive behavior you have displayed toward someone who voluntarily and very regularly offers to help less experienced Hosts such as yourself.
I previously suggested you gracefully retract the litany of assumptions made earlier before they were interpreted in a way you perhaps did not intend.
Unfortunately, your opportunity to absolve your earlier behavior has come and gone. Tove has now read your comments, removed herself from the Forum and now everyone in the group shall bear the weight of your immaturity.
Given your egregious behavior thus far, I’m going to ask that you remove yourself from the New Hosts Forum until you are able to communicate with respect and civility toward your fellow Hosts. Should you decide not to remove yourself from the group, I will assist you in that matter.
Finally Jean, so all three thousand members of our group understand just how seriously I am taking this matter, please reply to this comment publicly. I appreciate your kind and civil response, assuming that is possible.
Very truly yours,
Glenn Cooley

I heard that the current implementation of the Guidebook is being phased out, but that was from another Host who had a new listing and called customer service. If you have your Listing ID, you can try accessing it directly. Replace {LISTING ID} with your actual listing ID number:

Question: Guidebook
Hello,Hoping you can help. I noticed on several of the listings there is a "guidebook" next to the number of reviews. My listing does not have that. How do I add? I have been searching site and having trouble finding info on it and who/email to contact to ask a "help" question or where I should have selected "something" in the set up.
Much if anyone can point me in the right direction of where to find information or ask the question to Airbnb.
Many thanks,Cindy

Hello All,
Follow up to the question with Answer as I called Airbnb.
Following are the contact numbers if needed:
(phone number hidden)
With the new "upgrade" the guidebook is no longer on the new Listing page. I told them I thought this was a mistake and asked if they could look into adding this feature for new hosts. I live in Jersey City in a area where two restaurants within a 2 block radius of my apartment where voted on Food & Wine Top 10 "best new restaurants" and "pizza" lists. And have another coming in to area from Brooklyn that was on last week "Top 10" F&W for Chicken wings.
I think the guidebook feature if used can help create a "marketplace" and destination for in close proximity to major hubs. In my case, Manhattan. I'm 15 mins on the Path.
If I have any updates will let you know. If you feel this feature would be a benefit for you asking that you please contact Airbnb to request.
Much appreciated and let me know thoughts.

I have my own "AirBnB" hotline- a good friend who has been hosting for the past year. When I can't find something I call her (smile) and she passed me the info. It is buried somewhere on the site.
Happy you like the guidebook too. Please give them a call or email them, the more people that ask will most likely result in a faster solution. Anyone hosting prior to the upgrade as one. If you joined in the past two- three weeks (me) you don't have one.
