I was contacted by an auditor today, because my tax license was just filed within the last 60 days and their system was not updated. Christopher2 years ago I'm a tax attorney. Listing on AirBNB doesn't make you a "business" any more than selling your used car on Craigslist makes you a car dealership. Reporting your AirbBNB income on your income tax return is probably wise -- but as for a license, I would tell the local yokels to pound salt.

Question if you don't mind though; I originally licensed because I was not using my home as my primary residence, but now that I have moved back into it and more "home sharing" than renting...safe to cancel the license?
