Stephen shared Oct 21 205 punishment for decliningI know this was discussed before but I would like to complain about it myself. lolMy listing has pretty much always been on the first page between 1-8. I declined ONE guest and I was sent to the 3rd page.. ugh this really annoys me. I declined because one of the guests wanted to sleep on the couch and the other in the guest room. Really stupid airbnb Bekah and Brian ( beeandbee) Eh - the search algorithm is all over the place and we'll never really know how it works plus it's probably changing all the time. Could be a coincidence, could be something else entirely, could be a bunch of new listing in your area getting the newbie bump, could be your browser, could be your cookies. I used to decline swaths of guests and not have my listing budge an inch. Rarely pre-approving inquiries seems to have done a thing over time, but I still get bookings, so I don't get too wrapped up in it. With no parameters aside from "entire home" we're languishing on page six, yet have been fully booked since Feb. I hate being on page 6, but clearly people are finding us anyhow. The fact is that guests invariably search with SOME combination of parameters you're not likely using to see what page your place lands - dates, max price, amenities. It's such a crap shoot As long as your booking is steady, don't let airBNB's search madness grip you too tightly!
