Criminals are hacking into Airbnb accounts and booking stays via these hacked accounts, and Airbnb, even when they know about this, is failing to warn hosts. www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/2019/06/16/airbnb-failed-tell-hosts-strangers-fraudulent-bookings-homes/As well, other hosts have found that when guests show up for the reservation and are in clear violation of the house rules, or plan to be, and host requires them to cancel their reservation as a result, Airbnb policy is to fully refund these guests for unused days...which in the case of showing up for a booking for 3 people, with 100 people in tow and planning to have a party, these malicious guests will get all their money back and the host will lose out. This is more than unfair...it's pressure on the host to allow guest to break rules and do whatever they want. Once the reservation is cancelled, Airbnb then "re-homes" these malicious offenders into another unsuspecting hosts' listing. Hosts are angry, pointing out that hotels are safer from very bad guests than Airbnb hosts are.
