That's right, it looks like Airbnb is gradually moving towards eliminating guest fees and having hosts be the ones who pay their entire service fee. This is already done by www.booking.com and Airbnb wants to be like them, apparently. skift.com/2019/05/27/airbnb-eliminates-most-guest-fees-to-take-on-booking-holdings/This would mean that hosts would have to raise their rates, in order to end up with the same income they currently get, but guests would not see any difference in price if hosts raise their rates by the same amount that guests previously paid in guest fees to Airbnb. The difference would be in making pricing a bit easier to understand for guests. It would be more "what you see is what you get" except for taxes and cleaning add ons, which are shown anyway once the total is calculated.
