Columbia is planning to set up STR rules: www.columbiamissourian.com/news/columbia-inches-closer-to-short-term-rental-regulations-with-public/article_fd71a9ac-f429-11e8-8e4a-03e2934cb0b2.htmlSome of the proposed codes, among others, include: - Requiring an affidavit proving ownership of the short-term rental property for owner hosted dwellings.
- Limiting the number of guests per room to two, with a maximum of two sleeping spaces, for owner hosted dwellings.
- Renting the entire dwelling for non-owner-hosted single-family homes, duplexes and multi family homes/apartments and also limiting guests to two per sleeping space.
- Defining a “transient” guest as one who stays 31 days or less.
- Requiring a conditional use permit to operate a non-owner hosted short-term rental within 250 feet of an owner-hosted rental.
And requiring short-term rental participants to notify their neighbors of their intention to rent their property before guests arrive.
