I came across this article a few years ago in my local paper, the East Bay Express. It is an example of the types of problems that can be caused to small businesses by vexatious litigants. THis case doesn't involve residential property owners, but it does involve those with retail businesses. THe vexatious litigant featured here is actually someone I knew, a former acquaintance, and I was disturbed when this article came out and I saw what he was doing. He may believe he's a disabled activist, but with his letter-of-the-law application of the disabled requirements, he's actually harming a lot of small business owners, and he's earning an income through filing one frivolous suit after another. A similar thing can happen to owners of residential property through various tenant scams, so -- beware! Take care!
