Here we continue the national obsession with race, and the obsession with attempting to find evidence of "racism" in every nook and cranny of society.

A Purdue university study says that white neighborhoods, but not black or brown ones, see more benefits from Airbnb.
As usual, if the only tool you have is a hammer, everything is a nail. If you want to find racism everywhere, you will find it.
I know an Airbnb host who lives in a "minority neighborhood" in New Orleans. She pro-actively tells her guests not to go out walking after dark or in certain areas. Why? Because it's dangerous. But the so-called "study" doesn't reflect this common sense -- that some neighborhoods, while they might have restaurants, are not really places where it is safe to go walking around, or are not places where a guest might enjoy walking around. And dont' Airbnb guests deserve to ENJOY their outings?

A Purdue university study says that white neighborhoods, but not black or brown ones, see more benefits from Airbnb.
Researchers said Airbnb visitors may be drawn to more affordable accommodations in black and Latino neighborhoods — but not enough to eat there.
"Visitors may not feel comfortable wandering around and checking out restaurants in these minority areas," Rahman said. "It's the unfortunate uncomfortable reality in our society. They may be a lot more careful and just sleep at the Airbnb, coming and going in the comfort of an Uber or a Lyft."
There could also be a more benign reason for the disparity, he offered. "The kinds of restaurants these visitors are looking for may not be present in these neighborhoods."
Nick Papas, an Airbnb spokesman, disputed the results of the study, a working paper that he called "deeply flawed."
