Tip for getting reimbursed from Airbnb.
Many hosts have noted, when attempting to get reimbursed from Airbnb for damages to their property, that Airbnb requires receipts as documentation, which hosts may not still have, years after buying an item.
Here's my tip: keep receipts for things you purchase for your Airbnb rental in a file that you have easy access to. If there are too many receipts, in order to keep things simple, keep receipts for some of the main items or most commonly damaged items, in a separate place.
For instance, keep receipts for one mattress, a mattress cover, a comforter , duvet cover, linens , and a set of towels. Keep receipts for some main appliances like a microwave, blender, toaster oven, coffeemaker, etc. Just keep these even if they are from 10 years ago and you've been through 3 mattresses or appliances since then. It's probably not necessary that you have the exact receipt for the exact mattress that was damaged (for instance) as much as that you have A RECEIPT FOR A MATTRESS, if you are wanting to be reimbursed for a mattress.
