This is a concerning story...what happened here? It's hard to tell but I am concerned about Airbnb policing users' politics or their thoughts and beliefs: money.good.is/articles/airbnb-alt-righttime.com/4890986/airbnb-neo-nazi-alt-right-virginia/www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2017/08/08/airbnb-boots-white-nationalists-headed-to-unite-the-right-rally-in-charlottesville/What do you think about this? As much as the particular political views involved at the rally in question seem very offensive to me , still, I am disturbed by this action by Airbnb, which goes beyond terminating hosts' accounts over overt discriminatory statements, and now (seemingly) seeks to purge users based on their political views or their beliefs. What if someone wanted to attend this Alt-Right rally as photojournalist, for Time Magazine or Newsweek? Would they find Airbnb banning their account because they simply were doing their job? What if they were going as counter-protesters, or because they were disturbed by the ideas being presented there? It's none of Airbnb's business to be making assumptions about why people might do anything in particular in their lives, and I view these actions by the company as a possibly dangerous slide down a slippery slope of becoming thought police.
