Reporting (flagging) a guest inquiry for inappropriate content
Anyone know what, if anything happens when you report a guest profile for inappropriate content within the inquiry thread? (in this case hostile insults in response to my saying it's not a good fit)... or is the reporting option just one of those features designed to appease?
Keith:
I dont know for sure.
my assumption has been that these are mostly automated... if enough people flag a person their activity is reviewed.
there's too much going on for them to possibly respond to every flag that likely happens.
if you feel a situation requires attention, you may want to make a help ticket and ask someone to specifically review that guest.
nathalie:
they take into account when you flag if guests tried to deal out of Airbnb. For the other reasons, i do not know.
Grace:
Pretty much as I had assumed. Thanks Keith and Nathalie.
Andrew:
If the guest only wrote to you once, rather than repeatedly harassed you, it's a breach of good manners but not of any rule or policy I can find. The best response is to archive it and ignore it. On the brighter side - aren't you glad you followed your instinct and didn't wind up hosting this rude, hostile person! Hopefully other hosts will see as easily as you did that they're an undesirable guest.
Grace:
Andrew, yes, yes and definitely yes. And I did alert hosts about it in the NYC forum. Thanks!
Joseph:
In the future, you might want to say that your property may not be ideal for them
and their needs , that way you put it yourself and not have anyone think its negative reflection on them , or a little white lie such as I currently have a booking conflict with the dates you requested and I am unable to offer you the room !! Works like a charm everytime !
