While this sounds like a clever renter.. ultimately this is a short term money making venture with long term consequences. The eviction usually leaves a debt that's owed by the tenant. here in the US there's renters credit report and any evicted tenant will have a very difficult time finding a new apartment because the eviction appears on a record and they'll be rejected.
Additionally, if they're doing airbnb illegally, they may face additional fines from the city.
The most frustrating thing about this is that it just makes us all look bad so they should have hot oil poured over them.

Throwing out the baby with the bathwater. In this case., the tenant committed document fraud to get the place, issued unpaid checks and was even arrested for a while. Airbnb blocked the listing. The landlady cries for laws against STR - what would that help? Eviction takes the time it does, one more broken law would not make it faster. The tenant is a professional fraudster and will end up in jail sooner or later, illegally subletting won't trump the other charges. It must feel really good, vindicative, to stand in front of the building facing a journalist and not saying "I was fooled" but "bad airbnb made it easy to fool me". For sure, the first option would not get a journalist out there.
