Nest Bedding is offering free mattresses to hosts, if you are willing to name their company and put the mattress name in your Airbnb listing, and also put a photo of the uncovered mattress in your listing photos. I was a bit put off at first by the requirement to "advertise" for them, but these are pricey mattresses and I think it's a good deal. Once you get the mattress they also advertise your listing on their website. See the map of Airbnb listings with their mattresses here: www.nestbedding.com/pages/try-a-nest-bedding-mattress-and-pillows-at-an-airbnb-partner-near-youyou can contact Josh at Nest Bedding for information: josh@nestbedding.com

Thanks for letting us know. Is there a limit in the amount of mattress you can get? Just curious.
Anyway, at this moment I have more than enough mattress in great condition. But it is a great offer!

I got a hint of an idea that some hosts could get more than one mattress -- but I am getting only one even though I provided two listings to the company. One is a good deal!

Deborah, let me know if you like the mattress & don't mind the advertising. I want to see if the company bugs you too, constantly emailing or anything. I just disposed of 4 mattresses from my other house, but then clown spilled beer all over a mattress.

Okay, I will let you know. As I thought about it, the advertising required is minimal and not that much different from what I have been doing up to now by telling guests I have an "IKEA mattress with memory foam top". So now I will be saying instead that I have a "Nest Bedding mattress, Alexander Signature style". THe main difference is being asked to show a picture of the "naked" mattress --- that isn't really my style, but it isn't too much either.
I got the sense they have a limited number of mattresses that they are doing this with....so if you do want to try it don't delay too long.

I got a free mattress from tuft & needle and my guests just love it. T&N didn't require me to advertise their mattress in my listing, but when guests stay and comment I tell them "you're in the tuft & needle room"
I also have a tempurpedic mattress in one room and people even write in comments about both the tempur and T&n mattress that they're super comfortable.
Here's the contact for T&N: Jordan Davis Tuft & Needle | Marketing 503-888-1108 jordan@tuftandneedle.com
They have a limit of 30 per month they give away and you have to be a superhost I think to get on the list.
I'd like to get one of the nest beds and then all 3 bedrooms will have different high-quality mattresses, so I'll really be able to survey people and see which are best. Since I tend to move around to the free room I'll get to try them all out for myself too.

THanks for posting that, Keith. I had heard about the Tuft and Needle offer, but I'm not a Superhost and other hosts I know aren't Superhosts, so that wasn't going to work for us. But the Nest Bedding offer doesn't require that. It is interesting how these mattress companies are being so generous with hosts now...it's a new promo opportunity for them and I hope it works for them so this nice offer can continue!

When T&N initially started their program, superhost wasn't a requirement, but because of their limited supply they added that requirement . You may want to email them. I think your clout within the community should be enough to overcome any superhost requirement. I think the freebies are telling of a couple things... 1) traditional ways of selling mattresses are expensive and yield is low. 2) margins on mattresses are high I did find it odd that T&N didn't require mentioning them in the listing--I even suggested they make that a requirement and they said no... but you can if you want to.

Aw, well, Gypsies love to gossip--I agree that they should give you all the mattresses you can handle, Deborah, (as well as making you Queen of the World), but when Deanna mentioned to a non-SH that they should try for one, she was met with a NASTY, VICIOUS response from a certain seemingly super-sweet Super Host! Lol! 😆

Thanks for the vote for Queen of the World, CC. I dont' understand the degree to which some take SuperHost so very seriously. It's a gimmick -- it's kind of like being upset because someone else won a Cracker Jacks prize that didn't actually solve the puzzle correctly, so you're resentful of their Cracker Jacks jackpot.

Haha, Deborah! Love it! I think if I had a nice house I would be a SH. But ironically people book my house to save money--have a successful stay--and then complain about it! Hotels are seriously freaking expensive! But everything I can do to mitigate my bad house I do--100% response within minutes, flexible calendar, IB, limited rules, orderly and sane environment. So I host some hundreds of people--that should be worth an honorable mention. 🏆

Is there any catch to this or cost? And what if you leave ABNB after a time?

There's no catch or cost....the only "catch" being as mentioned that they want you to name the mattress in your ad and put in a photo of it on your listing. They make no other demands, and if you left hosting after a while they may not even know. But they do say, when you contact them, that they will assess whether you are eligible. So I dont' know how they determine that but possibly they wouldnt' take a brand new host with no or very few reviews....they do want to make sure they get a place where guests are actually staying.

It's my understanding that another mattress manufacturing company named Casper is now also offering free mattresses to hosts. Find them here: casper.com/You can see their phone number on the upper right of that site to contact them. It's 1-888-498-0003

the SF Home Sharers Democratic Club contacted Casper some months ago and the best they'd do was a $500 mattress... so maybe they're realizing that their competition is winning over the hosts (and, ultimately, the guests).
I have the Tuft and Needle and when guests say they had a great night sleep, I tell them what the mattress is.
meanwhile, I emailed josh@nest 3 times and never got a response.
