This is yet another among the dozens and dozens of stories of Airbnb users who were scammed by criminals: abcnews.go.com/Business/scammed-fake-airbnb-listing-elaborate-mirror-site/story?id=40278075Unfortunately she fell for the request to email the host directly via an email depicted in a photograph on the listing. This is a BIG NO-NO! Never contact a host through an email they have put in a photo. That is the entire Motus Operandi of scammers. They all start that way. THere is no other way they can pull their scam than by getting the guests' (or hosts') private email and then sending them fake Airbnb emails.
