Has anyone used Price Labs?
Hello!
Has anyone used PriceLabs to optimize their listing prices? Someone suggested using it and I just want to know from other users if they use it and how it has helped their listing. Here is the URL: pricelabs.co/

That guy has posted the same link to all sorts of forum questions. He is littering the forums with that link in self promotion

I think Sunny works for pricelabs and really should give that disclaimer when he posts it - haven't used it, and won't.

Haven't used it but was tempted before I noticed that is his only response to any question. Seems like some sort of scam to me. Don't know for sure but not going to risk it. If someone else is using it I would love to hear your experience!

I went recently and checked it out. Thought it was weird. It looked like it based its recommended changes on the prices I had already set. Like - on "normal weeks" where there are no events in my area, my winter price is $65. Then for event weekends, I set the price at $99. So pricelabs seemed to make it much more complicated, and i thought it would be hard for guests to have any idea what they would be charged. It was like a gradual increase and decrease around those event weekends, fluctuating every night. Much simpler for guests and for me to set 2 prices - a regular price, and a special, holiday or event rate.

Did it seem like you had to turn over account info and access?

I just typed in the URL for my listing, so general info anyone could access. That was just to get their 'suggested price," apparently they can update prices on your listing automatically - i'm sure you'd have to give them more access for that, which I would never do.

Hey folks, apologize for not adding the disclaimer. I do work for PriceLabs. The link above though from the forum where nicole & roderick talking about PriceLabs - I can confirm that they do not work for PriceLabs
Valerie: Happy to introduce you to hosts on who use PriceLabs if you have any questions.
Heather: Understand your concerns and are trying to work on ways to make the access smoother

Hi Valarie, your rooms are very well priced now. I wouldn't change the rate. You want to attract your first guests and start getting reviews.

Sunny - stop with the spamming. I've noticed it too. You've recommended it to hosts in these forums who are already well priced.

I signed up for Pricelabs and find it intriguing. It correctly predicted dips just before Christmas and a big crafts convention coming to town, and repriced my rooms accordingly (up and down).

Why did it dip before Christmas? December was my busiest month so far.

Because (educated guess) it knew that here in either the East, or Baltimore, that demand was very soft, by coming up with an algorithm for how many rooms were available.

Interesting. How much access does pricelabs have to your accout?

PriceLabs fairly consistently recommends that my prices be $5-$10 higher than I have them set. That could work during high season, but with my winter as slow as it's been, I just can't see raising my rates in Dec/Jan/Feb.

Carrie, Appreciate your feedback. The reason its a little bit higher is that we see some demand around your area and therefore we set it a little hgiher to be competitive and not leave some money on the table. You can set in your maximum price and it can adjust accordingly. Also we have a solution for you to overwrite the prices we have with a custom calendar where you yourself can set the prices you want on particular days. Let me know if you have any questions. Disclaimer: I am a co-founder of PriceLabs.
