More guests arriving than booked and paid for
Happens all the time ... I am planning to add for additional guests. Puts me in an uncomfortable place. I do stay on the property so I do know there are extra guests. Many may not if they are not on the venue. Any suggestions on how to charge or deter additional guests?

Alter right on the spot. Many times, during email exchange, the guest drops the "we will be there... or we are doing..." That is when I come back and ask to confirm the number and adjust accordingly.

Unless you stand firm, guests will take advantage...I would add on a "fee" for extra people---like $20/day or more...& just stop accepting people in your space who haven't registered & you don't know anything about..

I agree with Leah and Rick. Stand firm. When I get a booking for a group, I ask for the first and last names of all guests who will be staying. All my guests comply to this request. If they are there, go on airbnb and have them alter the reservation on the spot to reflect the # of guests. Also, change your listing to add extra fee per person per night. Good luck!

In my condo it is an obligation to have the names and id numbers (passaport number when foreigners) presented and registered at the condo gate. This is important for security reasons and also gives me complete control over who is coming. Besides, my flat is perfect up to five people and I charge US$25 a day for guest number five, be him/her an adult or a child. My guest know in advance about this and they never complain.
