See the article: www.tennessean.com/story/opinion/columnists/david-plazas/2016/04/24/hosts-neighbors-lock-horns-airbnb-rentals/83349994/The rise of Nashville short-term rentals is allowing landlords to make money and tenants to book rooms at private homes for lower prices than traditional hotel rates. However, these businesses, operating within some of Nashville's most desirable neighborhoods, are raising alarm among homeowners who feel they are ruining their quality of life and raising housing prices and rents. That divide was apparent at an April 13 community workshop I attended at the Howard Office Building's Sonny West auditorium. The room was packed with at least 200 people including neighborhood association members, short-term rental hosts and people wearing stickers saying #HomesNotHotels.
