Red glitch or did we accidentally cancel on someone?
We got a rez request for 12/21-25. We sent a special offer in response and we're waiting to hear back. Then we got a request for an overlapping date from someone else. We thought we sent a reply, not a preapproval to person #2 but suddenly request #2 appeared as pending on our calendar and request #1 was marked as "no longer possible." My husband sent some correspondence to botj parties to explain what was going on. Then the request for person #1 was marked "closed" even though we never heard back from her. Request #2 is still marked as "pending."
We really can't tell what's going on now. We haven't heard anything back from person 1. Has anyone ever seen this before? Is it possible she cancelled the reservation request? I would have expected an actual notice that she was rescinding the request/not accepting our special offer.
Any insights appreciated!

First, it is very important to understand the difference between a "reservation request" and an "inquiry". You cannot respond to a reservation request with a "special offer" -- your only choices are accept or decline. So if you see the choices to respond with special offer, preapproval, or discuss further/need more info, then what you got was NOT a reservation request, but an inquiry. It's vitally important to understand the difference between these two, and you can always tell which you get based upon what choices you are given to respond.
Yes, guests can cancel their reservation request. It will show up as "cancelled" if they cancel a reservation request, and as "closed" if they close/cancel an inquiry.
